I am writing to thank you and your team for outstanding service and an extremely solid product.
We purchased GPS service for our forty-five company vehicles in December 2008. We are a
very cost-conscience construction contractor who talked to no less than a dozen of your
competitors about their specific products before settling on VehiclePath. After felt that
VehiclePath was the best choice for Raven Mechanical and we have not regretted that decision.
We began considering GPS tracking for our company for several reasons. Time theft is always a
significant consideration for any successful construction company. We also were conscience of
our accident record and needed a solution and incentive to make our drivers safer – in effect
lowering our insurance premiums and possibly saving lost production due to accidents. In
addition, we anticipated using the system to better schedule and route our technicians on the
service line of our company. In interviewing a dozen of your closest competitors, we became
"experts" on the topic of GPS. We felt that VehiclePath was the most efficient system that met all
of our criteria. More importantly, we felt that VehiclePath would provide a high level of customer
service based on our discussions with your sales representative. She was
extremely patient and helpful during a decision process that spanned over 3 months. She was to
the point and was able to tailor a program to precisely fit our needs.
We were convinced we made the right choice within the first month of service with VehiclePath.
Our units were easy to install and we were able to do the installation ourselves with very little
guidance from your technical support staff. The online interface allows
us to monitor our vehicle usage real-time at any location that has web access (even my mobile
phone) and we have found it to be very user intuitive. While there have been several updates to
your software, and it has taken some adjustments on our end, we recognize that each
modification improves the interface and we have more options available. We appreciate that your
team is striving to improve the product each and every day. We have even made small
recommendations relative to our specific needs and were informed after a month that your design
team implemented them into the interface.
When originally considering your product, a large part of our decision was based on ROI. We did
the standard ROI calculation but there were many variables that were not considered and that
have accelerated that ROI tremendously. For instance, in May 2009, one of our service vans was
stolen from an employees' home. He did not discover the theft until the next morning. He
immediately called the owner of the company to notify him. It was a Sunday when the call was
made and the owner immediately logged in to your site from home. He found that the van had
been idle for approximately 9 hours and retrieved the address where the vehicle was located.
The owner called the police and asked them to meet him at the location. He found our service
van at the precise location where it had been abandoned. The location was somewhat remote
and the police took another hour to locate this address. Had it not been for the GPS system, we
might not have retrieved this vehicle for several weeks; if at all. In addition, on Monday, I was
able to log into the system and see the history of where the van was driven. It was noted that
after being stolen, it went to a location and stopped for 3 hours while the thieves offloaded our
equipment and inventory. We were able to turn this address over to the police and as of this
date, we have been told that the police believe we might have tipped them off to the location of a
large theft ring. In another instance, one of store credit cards for a large home improvement
chain was used fraudulently. We used the GPS system as part of our dispute to show that the
employee in question was never nearby the location where the credit card was used. This saved
much time in the dispute process while also saving us thousands of dollars. To say the least, we
have already realized a return on our investment many times over. More importantly, you cannot
put a value on peace of mind and that is what your system has provided us.
Most important is the quality of your customer and technical support services. I have called your
technical support hotline on a few occasions to inquire about features. Each call is answered by
a friendly, knowledgeable support tech and there is no wait to get this person on the phone. They
have always resolved my questions within a few minutes and in an extremely professional
manner. My only wish is that more companies would use the same integrity, efficiency and
approach that VehiclePath utilizes.
