Vehiclepath, A State of the Art GPS Fleet Tracking System, Improves Employee Accountability

The features Sun Coast uses to help manage their fleet include:

  • Google Maps – they are able to drill down and know the driver’s exact location.
  • Groups – they group their vehicles so dispatchers can see only the vehicles they need to manage. With offices throughout Texas, it can be challenging to view more than 250 trucks at a time.
  • Geofences – they set up geofences around areas where drivers are not supposed to be traveling with hazardous materials, and are alerted if a driver enters that area. For example, a freeway where transportation of hazardous materials is not allowed.
  • Speed Alerts – they are alerted if a driver exceeds a pre-set speed limit.
  • Landmarks – they set specific locations on the map such as customer locations, competitors’ locations and their offices so they can easily see whether a driver has made a delivery or not.
