Polar bears tagged with GPS tracking devices for study

Government officials in Nunavut, Canada plan to tag 300 polar bears (just as GPS fleet tracking companies follow their fleets) in the Foxe Basin to track their whereabouts and help maintain/grow the population of the bears. The study will produce a population estimate. The last tally, in 1990, counted 2,100.
